(Week 14) Sunday, May 8th

(Week 14) Sunday, May 8th
Dear Little One,
Today was our first Mother’s Day together. I honestly think it counts. You are in there and that makes me a mom, no matter how small you are. I guess you might be the size of a lemon, but I can’t really bring myself to call you a lemon. You have a face and ears and might even get the hiccups in there. I love that, even though I can’t feel any of it yet. Another piece of breaking news is that we have now started the second trimester, at least, I think we have. I’m pretty sure at least. Want to know how I can tell? None of my pants fit me anymore.
Papa and I started a little baby bet. I bet Papa that he couldn’t loose as many pounds as I gain during this pregnancy. So far we are off to a pretty fair start since I have only gained about two pounds and he has lost about four. Apparently it is no big surprise that I am not gaining that much weight. However, when I hit about week 22 then things start picking up, or so I hear. However, I do have to say, I am thankful for yoga pants. I have a feeling they will save my life, or at least my wardrobe this summer.
Today I gave a talk in Sacrament Meeting about women of faith and courage. It was a really good subject and just goes to show that you don’t have to be a biological mother to be a woman of influence in the lives of following generations. I can’t wait for you to meet all of the women of influence in my life, there are so many. You will have so many people to offer support and love you won’t know what to do with them all.
Well, needless to say, we survived the talk and the Sunday School lesson. It was a beautiful Sunday and after Papa went off to work we went and spent some time with the Gygi family. I am feeling a little bit better, though I did toss some of the breakfast in bed that your Papa made me for Mother’s Day. Hopefully the nausea will start diminishing soon. Just keep taking it easy in there.
Love you tons,
                                    Mama
