(Week 21 maybe) Saturday, June 25th

(Week 21 maybe) Saturday, June 25th
Dear Son, (it is so fun writing that)
Today we took a Saturday drive with Papa to see how Utah Lake was fairing with all this rushing water. The river was high, the lake getting higher, and we wished you were there to see it. I think it is beautiful, all the green and lush ground. When we got close to the river trail and the lake the road was actually flooded, so much so that a kayaker just plopped his little boat right in the road. Your Papa is a good driver, but even he was nervous that we might flood the engine and have to get out and push our way through the floodwaters.
Once clear of the deep part we took the car around the Provo airport. Right now it is just a small, little used thing. I hear they are thinking of developing it, but we will see. The road was bumpy and I was holding a watermelon. I am not talking about my belly, I am talking about an actual watermelon, on my lap, while Papa drove this way and that trying to avoid the worst of the pits.
The water on the lake was stunning, all clear and reflecting the blue sky. We had a great time just driving around the loop. It got pretty tight when a truck and a suburban tried to pass, but otherwise it was relaxing and fun to see all the changes.
You Papa’s favorite spot was on the other side of the airport. Usually there is very little water there, but right now it is a beautiful spot. In one place the trees open up to reveal a newly formed pond-like place, with a great view of “Y” Mountain in the back ground. Papa said this is the place, if he were a fisherman, he would like to fish. Just then I saw it. There they were, Papa and blonde haired boy, fishing in some beaten up row boat in the middle of that little oasis. I cannot wait to see those moments in real life. Maybe by then we might even on a battered row boat. At least, one can hope.
We both hope you had fun on that bumpy ride. Maybe there will come a time when we can all see it again. I hope so.
                        Love Always and Forever,
                                    Mama
