(Week 17) Wednesday, June 1st
Dear Baby,
Another successful visit to Dr. Willis today. I have to say though; the process is getting a little anticlimactic after our spectacular ultra sound last time. I was up for getting another look at you, but the doc didn’t even suggest it. I hope that is a good thing, because the last thing I want is something exciting to happen which means you are in trouble in there.
We arrive, we are almost immediately called back by a nurse, I take a cup to the bathroom, the nurse weighs me and takes my blood pressure, and we wait for the Doc. Then he comes in the room, I lay on the little bed, he squirts cold stuff on my belly, and we listen to your little heart. I love the sound, honestly I do. Then that was it. See what I mean about nothing exciting to report? Ok, I guess there is one thing. In two weeks we have the big ultra sound to see what kind of baby you are: girl, boy, or raccoon. That is something I am excited for, also because with a clear picture of your fully developed little body they can check for any problems too. Hopefully all my worries will be put at ease, but you never know. Dr. also said that I am measuring at 19 weeks, something about fingers and belly button, so I guess that means I am further along than we anticipate or more likely you are bigger than average.
Anyways, not anything else really exciting has been happening lately. I work, go home, work some more, eat some more, and then go to bed. I try house work and yard work, but I get too tired too fast when I am doing it all alone. So I usually just end up going back to bed and watching a movie until your Papa calls. Weekends are usually the best for me right now. I don’t feel nearly as nauseated or tired. I can take a nap anytime I need to. Those are the good days.
Loves,
Mama
Cravings: Pickles and lime popsicles, though not together because that would be gross.
Sickenings: Wheat bagel and cream cheese, though only on an empty stomach.
